Huntsville Senior Center
On going service? that is the "norm" for the Huntsville Branch. They got the idea to decorate the local Senior Center in a "Holiday" spirit. It was very well received and appreciated. But who was affected more? It may be hard to tell because the enthusiasm just keeps going. Every holiday or special occasion off they go again-to the Senior Center to decorate. It cannot be estimated how much joy these sisters bring into the lives of the Seniors who live there and those who work there as well.

Christmas Cantata Performed at Huntsville Branch
The choir members prepare for the Christmas performances for about three months. Performances were held at the Huntsville United Methodist Church, the Huntsville LDS Branch and the Marble United Baptist Church. Huntsville Branch members Susie Copenhaver and James Copenhaver have performed with the choir for several years. Other members of the branch participated as readers during the cantata.
After the performance, finger foods and desserts were served to the public. Choir members commented on how great it was singing in the new chapel because of the amazing acoustics. It was a great opportunity for the public to see the new building and feel the Christmas Spirit through song.

Relief Society Sisters Give at Thanksgiving
The
Relief Society Sisters of the Huntsville Branch of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints served the Thanksgiving Meal at the Madison
County Senior Citizen’s Center in November. The sisters not only acted
as servers but went in the day before and decorated the center and
tables with a Thanksgiving theme. This is the second year that the
sisters have taken on this project. The center provides a lunch meal to
the elderly in the county for a small donation. The older people in the
community appreciate the special treatment they receive. The branch
missionaries jumped at the chance to help serve and had a great time.
The directors of the center have been so thrilled with the extra help
and impressed with the beautiful way the sisters decorate, the sisters
returned in December to decorate for the Christmas meal.

pancakes, eggs, and sausage was enjoyed by more than thirty veterans and
their guests. Sister Linda Elmore once again headed up the committee
and was thrilled with the turnout.

"This is my dream come true", said President Weickersheimer. "We are going to dedicate this beautiful building. This is a story that started once upon a time and a long time ago. Today it is dedicated to the Lord. You know the Lord loves us because of what He has given us, now its time to share it with others! Together we can do great things in Huntsville."
"This building is a physical reminder of more important things- the faith of the members of this area", said President Bradford. "What we are seeing unfold will tear down barriers and old feelings. I promise as you respectfully approach others, opportunities will come to share- they will come to you!"
